      "De vlag is in art-deco stijl vormgegeven. De tekst staat in drie balken onder elkaar. De drie beginkapitalen zijn uitgevoerd in sierletters die aan de linkerkant uitlopen in een lange krul. Onder de letter M staat een monnik met in zijn linkerhand een lantaarn en in zijn rechterhand een schild met hamer en houweel. De overige initialen worden met elkaar verbonden door verticale lijnen waarin twee mijnwerkerslampjes zijn verwerkt. Rechtsboven staat de oprichtingsdatum. Rondom is de vlag met een smalle rand van rode zijde afgewerkt; de negen lussen zijn gemaakt van hetzelfde materiaal."
